We understand that seeking menopause and midlife health care can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been told to “just wait it out.” Our approach is different — it’s collaborative, evidence-based, and designed around your needs.
We offer mostly virtual appointments (with in-person options at our physical locations when necessary). Here’s how the process works from start to finish:
Step 1: Getting Referred
To begin your journey with us, you’ll need a referral from a licensed physician. You can direct your family doctor to our website or simply download our referral form HERE and take it to him/her. If you don’t have a family physician, then a walk-in clinic or a Telehealth doctor can also complete the form and fax it to us.
As part of our commitment to universal access to care, we also accommodate patients who are unable to obtain a referral by offering in-person appointments at our physical clinic location in Calgary. If you would like to see us in person, please complete this self-referral form by clicking HERE. Our staff will contact you to arrange a face-to-face appointment.
Step 2: Booking & Initial Testing
Once we receive your referral, we’ll review it and send you a secure link to book your first appointment. If appropriate, we’ll also provide requisitions for routine lab work or other initial investigations to help inform your care plan right from the start.
Step 3: Health Questionnaire
You’ll also receive a detailed digital intake form to complete before your first appointment. This gives us important information about your symptoms, medical history, and overall health. Please complete and return it before your consultation so we can tailor your care effectively.
Step 4: Initial Physician Consultation
Your first appointment will be a 30–45 minute consultation with one of our physicians, held by video or phone — with video preferred so we can connect face-to-face. During this visit, we’ll review your questionnaire, explore your symptoms in depth, and discuss any available test results.
Together, we’ll create a personalized care plan based on your unique goals and medical needs. There’s no pressure to start treatment right away, and we never push hormone therapy as the only solution. Your plan may include further testing before any decisions are made. While many women are candidates for hormone therapy, some are not — and if that’s the case, we’ll be open and compassionate in discussing why and guiding you toward the best alternatives.
Step 5: Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up appointments will be arranged based on your treatment plan. If testing is needed before deciding on treatment, we’ll book your next visit as soon as possible — to keep things moving without avoidable delays.
For those starting hormone therapy, we typically check in every three months to ensure the treatment is effective and well-tolerated. We’re always here to support you sooner if needed.
If you need more time to decide, you’re welcome to book a follow-up visit within one year of your initial consultation. After one year, a new referral will be required.
Step 6: Long-Term Care & Annual Reviews
We believe in continuity and relationship-based care. If you’re continuing with us long-term, we recommend an annual review to reassess your treatment plan and make any necessary adjustments. This helps ensure your care stays aligned with your evolving health and goals.
